1994 PAUL FISCHER (1941-) $12,000
Scale: 640mm, Nut: 52mm. Spruce Soundboard, and the back is Indian Rosewood. French Polish.
In 1969 he became a disciple learning guitar production at David Jose Rubio's studio, who died in 2000. Paul Fischer went independent in 1974.
Not less than 2 dozen virtuosos use his guitars in concerts and recordings. Full list on the website.

650 mm scale, 50 mm Nut. Fine to Medium grain Spruce Soundboard and Maple back and sides. 7 fan braces and 2 bottom chevrons. New Bridge tie block fabricated by Miguel Simplicio in 1937.
This was fabricated after Vicente Arias had won three awards, as it says on the label, (2 Gold Medals and 1 Silver medal) in 1888 in Brussels and Barcelona and 1890 in Madrid.

652 mm Scale, 50 mm Nut. Medium to wide grain Domed Spruce Soundboard and Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. Ebony Bridge. 7 Fan Braces. French Polish, German Tuners. Separate pieces attaching the top to the sides and a single liner attaching the back to the sides. If you look closely you can see this began its configuration having pegs and later had the tuners added.
Vicente Arias was 73 years of age when he fabricated this instrument.
There are about 50 some guitars by this maker that are known. My colleague, Stefano Grondona, owns one from the same year of 1906. He discusses it in the Vicente Arias book.
This instrument is very lightweight. 1,087 grams= 37.87 ozs. = 2 lbs. 5 7/8 ozs. Just over 2 1/4 lbs.
The label shows the medals won in artisan competitions in Brussels in 1888, Madrid in 1890 as well as in 1907 and Barcelona in 1888.
Francisco Tarrega owned two Arias guitars, one fabricated in Ciudad Real about 1879 and a miniature one to hold under his cape for practice without being seen.

the back to the sides, 1 1/2" x 1/2" pieces attaching the top to the sides. This instrument weighs 1,266 grams= 44.11 ozs. = 2 lbs, 12 ozs.
The rarest of the Dammann Guitars, because the ones you have seen in concerts are Cedar tops.
It has an effervescent sound, is what I said, when I first played this a decade ago.
This is a consignment.
In 2019, Pablo Sáinz Villegas accompanied Placido Domingo using this Spruce top guitar. The video is of Pablo using his Cedar top, the most common seen in concerts.

Constructed 10 years after the passing of Santos Hernandez (1874-1943), since 1913 Modesto Borreguero had worked at the side of that maestro of guitar making, as well as next to Domingo Esteso (1882-1937), all three of these legendary guitar builders having worked for the Manuel Ramirez (1864-1916) workshop, and he worked for the widow until 1924.

650 mm Scale, 50 mm Nut. Medium grain Spruce Soundboard and Rosewood Back and Sides. French Polish, Original Frets, Original Pearl Tuners with the additional bone “pips” added to the rollers. The center section of the rosette is similar to the rosette on one made in 1914 and numbered 155.
This is the type of Enrique Garcia guitar that Domingo Prat (1886-1944) (Francisco Tarrega student) took to Argentina when he arrived in Buenos Aires on January 1, 1908. He owned at least 3 Garcia guitars at the time of his death in 1944. Francisco Tarrega's Enrique Garcia guitar, n°74 fabricated in 1906, was just 7 guitars before the one available for sale here.

637 mm Scale 49 mm Nut. Medium grain Spruce Soundboard and Maple back and sides. 4 braces the full length of the body, very much like cello bass bars. Ebony binding around the Soundboard edge. Unlike any other guitar model in existence, there are no transverse braces mounted on the back. Currently strung with Ambra 900 Nylgut strings.
