Mets' Edwin Diaz: Notches 12th save
Rotowire
Diaz picked up his 12th save of the season Monday against Miami, allowing one earned run on two hits and one walk in one inning. He struck out one.
The Marlins gave Diaz and the Mets a big scare in the ninth inning, loading the bases with just one out. An RBI groundout from Josh Bell cut the lead to 6-4, but Diaz induced a pop out to end the game. The 30-year-old has been excellent since returning from suspension July 6, allowing just one earned run in 5.2 innings while going 5-for-6 in save opportunities.

Mets' Francisco Lindor: Homers twice, swipes bag
Rotowire
Lindor went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs, a walk and a stolen base in Monday's win against Miami.
Lindor took Marlins starter Yonny Chirinos deep in the fourth inning before launching another home run in the ninth off JT Chargois to propel the Mets to victory. The 30-year-old registered his second multi-home run game of the season while adding his 20th stolen base for good measure. The star shortstop has had an excellent July thus far, slashing .294/.429/.588 with six home runs, 14 RBI, 13 runs scored and five steals in 18 games.

Mets' David Peterson: Notches fifth win
Rotowire
Peterson (5-0) picked up the win Monday against Miami, allowing two earned runs on six hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out four.
Peterson wasn't flashy, but he allowed two earned runs or fewer in a sixth consecutive start, logging a 2.53 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 30:18 K:BB in 32 innings during that stretch. The southpaw's poor 36:23 K:BB in 48.2 innings limits his upside, but he has been solid for the Mets this season with a 3.14 ERA. He will look to keep rolling his next time out, a start which is tentatively scheduled for this weekend against Atlanta.

Mets' Mark Vientos: Receiving Monday off
Rotowire
Vientos is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.
Jose Iglesias will move over from his usual spot at second base to cover the hot corner in place of Vientos. The 24-year-old had been included in the lineup in each of the Mets' last 12 games, batting .295 with one home run, four RBI and three runs during that stretch.

Mets' Cole Sulser: Designated for assignment
Rotowire
The Mets designated Sulser for assignment Monday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Logan Porter. Sulser, 34, has been tagged for four runs over four appearances during his brief time with the Mets this season.

Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Nabs ninth steal
Rotowire
Nimmo went 0-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Marlins.
He also struck out three times, continuing a trend that has seen Nimmo whiff at a 32.4 percent rate in July. Those contact issues have led to a .226/.324/.419 slash line on the month, but the veteran outfielder has bolstered his fantasy value by stealing four bags in 16 games to go along with three homers, six runs and 13 RBI. Nimmo's nine steals on the season have already tied his career high.

Mets' Kodai Senga: Aiming for five innings in return
Rotowire
The Mets are expecting to get about five innings and 85 pitches out of Senga (shoulder/triceps) in his season debut, which is scheduled for Friday against Atlanta, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
The right-hander built up to 79 pitches in his final rehab start Saturday for Triple-A Syracuse, so an 85-pitch workload may even be a conservative estimate. Senga has missed the entire season so far due to arm issues that first cropped up in late February, and he'll throw one more bullpen session Tuesday to get checked out before the Mets activate him from the 60-day injured list and lock him in for Friday's start.

Mets' TJ Shook: Sent to Queens
Rotowire
The Mets acquired Shook from the Brewers on Sunday in exchange for reliever Tyler Jay, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Shook is in the midst of his third season at the Double-A level but has struggled to a 4.90 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 77:25 K:BB over 64.1 innings this year. The right-hander will likely need to show some improvement with his new organization in order to move up to Triple-A before the end of the campaign.

Mets' Christian Scott: Gives up three runs in loss
Rotowire
Scott (0-3) took the loss Sunday against the Marlins. He allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings while striking out four.
Scott got through the first three innings Sunday before running into trouble in the fourth. He allowed the first two runners to reach before serving up a three-run homer to Jazz Chisholm. He wouldn't come back out for the fifth, making it just the second time in his nine career starts that he couldn't get past the fourth inning. Scott has been plagued by the long ball, as he has given up eight home runs in his first 47.1 innings. The 25-year-old is still looking for his first career win and will carry a 4.56 ERA into his next start.

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Not starting Sunday
Rotowire
McNeil is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.
McNeil went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Saturday after he clubbed two homers in the second-half opener Friday, and he'll head to the bench for Sunday's contest as lefty Trevor Rogers takes the mound for Miami. Tyrone Taylor will receive a start in right field while Jose Iglesias mans the keystone.

-
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Receiving day off
Rotowire
Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.
Alvarez has gone 1-for-7 with a walk and an RBI to begin the second half, and he'll take a seat for Sunday's matchup in Miami. Luis Torrens will step in behind the plate to catch for rookie righty Christian Scott.

Mets' Kodai Senga: Feels good after rehab start
Rotowire
Senga (shoulder/triceps) said his "body feels good" after a rehab start with Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday, during which he allowed five runs on eight hits with one strikeout and three walks over three-plus innings, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
The results aren't ideal for the 31-year-old in what was expected to be his final minor-league rehab outing, but the important thing is he continued to build up his workload while staying healthy. Senga gave up just one run in his other three rehab outings, so there shouldn't be much concern regarding his performance. Assuming everything checks out when the right-hander rejoins the big-league club to be evaluated, Senga is expected to return from the 60-day injured list and make his season debut Friday at home versus Atlanta, per Tim Healey of Newsday.

Mets' Edwin Diaz: Nails down 11th save
Rotowire
Diaz struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his 11th save of the season in a 1-0 win over the Marlins.
He closed out the combined shutout on 12 pitches (nine strikes), with his fastball topping out at 98.5 mph. Diaz appears to be back in nearly peak form -- he hasn't given up a run in eight appearances since coming off the IL in mid-June, piling up six saves and two wins with a 0.78 WHIP and 8:3 K:BB over 7.2 innings during that stretch.

-
Mets' Luis Severino: Blanks Fish for seventh win
Rotowire
Severino (7-3) picked up the win Saturday, allowing two hits and three walks over six scoreless innings in a 1-0 victory over the Marlins. He struck out seven.
The right-hander tossed 53 of 91 pitches for strikes to kick off the combined shutout, giving Severino his ninth quality start of the season. The 30-year-old has been the Mets' most reliable starter this season, lasting at least six innings in eight straight trips to the mound since the beginning of June while posting a 3.66 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 34:13 K:BB in 51.2 innings over that stretch. Severino's next outing lines up to come at home next week against Atlanta.
