Ayers, Matthew S. "Matt" Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at his home. He was 50 years old. Matthew Stephen Ayers was born on April 8, 1969 in Saginaw to Jeanne (Burba) and Stephen S. Ayers. He graduated from Carrollton High School, and then attended Western Michigan University receiving his Associates Degree in Aviation Engineering. Matt worked for Covenant HealthCare for over 20 years in the Information Technology Department. He loved to camp, fish, golf, garden, he was an avid reader and loved caring for his pets. Matt loved to spend hours planning and cooking special events for his family and friends. He was a standing tall, proud Republican and enjoyed sporting events, especially the Red Wings. Matt is survived by his wife, Hollie Ayers; step-son, Hayden Bennett; mother, Jeanne (Randall) Parent; brother, Michael (Mandy) Ayers; step-sisters: Kelly-Jo (Rick) Hanson, Kristie Louise (Larry) Timmons and Wendy Lynn (Clarence) Hammond; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Alison and Michael VanNorman; brother-in-law, Paul (Karen) VanNorman; nieces and nephews: Camden, Ella and Riley VanNorman, Madelyn and Mackenzie Ayers, Rick, Alexandria and Brea Hanson and Nicolas Timmons; and grandma, Dorothy VanNorman. Gempel, Jason Saginaw, Michigan Jason Gempel, loving spouse, father, and dear friend tragically passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from injuries sustained in an accident. He was 51 years old. Jason was known to always show for those who needed him at any time of day or night. To meet him was to feel like you’ve known him your entire life. His laughter, kindness, and loyalty were truly one of a kind. He was the friend and companion you wanted to have, and simultaneously the friend and companion you’d someday hope to be. Jason found so much joy in life, particularly in fishing, racing his cars and snowmobiles, hunting, playing with his puppies Solomon and Clarke, and rocking out to some good live music. His true, happiest place was when he was with the love of his life of 20 years, Heidi. They enjoyed their nightly fishing trips, traveling to see their favorite bands, especially Soulfly, and enjoying a good spicy Bloody Mary at the end of a long work day. He loved spending time with his closest friends and family, and his dogs who he always considered family. He was incredibly skilled in seemingly every way, and was proud to have owned and operated his own business that he built. DEISLER, Edward G., of Saginaw, our beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was 91years old. Edward George Deisler, Jr. was born on May 11, 1924, to Edward G. and Bernadette (LaVeck) Deisler. He married Mary Patrice "Pat" Harden on August 28, 1948, at St. Mary's Cathedral; she preceded him in death on July 24, 2010. Ed graduated from St. Mary's High School and then attended St. Mary's College in Winona, MN. He continued his education at the University of Notre Dame where he enrolled in the V-12 Program. In 1942, Ed served with the United States Marine Corps in Saipan and Okinawa, Japan for four years. Upon his honorable discharge, he attended Wayne State University where he obtained his Mortuary Science License. Ed was a licensed funeral director for over 68 years, serving the Saginaw community. He was the President of Deisler Funeral Home from 1951 until his retirement in 1989. He was extremely proud that the Deisler Funeral Home was, and still is, the oldest funeral home in the Saginaw community founded in 1888, continues to serve the community 128 years later through his son, Thomas, a fourth generation family funeral director/owner. In addition to owning the funeral home, Ed founded State Lanes and Stardust Bowling establishments with his brothers, Joe and Tony.
